Getting spots to place your banners on other websites is a good thing in your website promotion, but this is not everything.

The most important thing is to make those banners to get you visitors. For this, your banner should have a good and eye catching design to be noticed by the visitors and also transmit the right message. The banners you have should make the visitors curious or interested.

If you don't have good designing skills and marketing skills you should better leave this for professionals.

Static and animated banners design.

The banners can have different formats and sizes, and also they can be animated or static.

Static banners are smaller, which is good for the traffic on your server, but animated banners, even if they are bigger in size, they are more eye-catching and have a bigger click-through rate which is what you are looking for. Which kind of banners do you use to promote your business it's your choice.

Static banners can be as jpg, gif, png and swf (flash) and animated banners can be only gif files and flash files - swf. For small animations is recommended the gif format, but for more complex animations you should use Flash. The animated gif banner can have maximum 256 colors. The Flash file is much smaller than the animated gif and have much better quality.
