We will use this image to add a watermark to it. First of all we open the photo in Photoshop.

Let's select the Type Tool in the Tools box. Set the font type, size and color as you want. You can type a horizontal text and than, if you wish you can rotate it by 90° as in my example.


In the layers box, make sure your text layer is still selected. Notice there two option Opacity and Fill. Set the Fill option of your text layer to 0%. This way, your layer color will not be shown. The only thing it will remain will be the stoke effect I added before.

Now, modify the Opacity option of the layer to a lower value. In my example I set it to 25%. You can set is as low as you wish to look good on your photo. The idea is to be visible, but not too visible, otherwise it may ruin the overall look of your photo.
