In this Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to change an object's color. Just follow the steps of this free Photoshop tutorial and you will see how easy is to change an object's color.
For this tutorial, we will use this image, with the bag. Let's try changing the bag's color, without modifying the rest of the image.

First of all we need to duplicate the layer with the image. This way, we will work on a new layer and if we do any mistake, we will always have the original image intact. After the layer with the image is duplicated, select the new layer and remove object's background. You can easily do that with the extract option. This way you will obtain the best result. If you have problem doing this, please take a look at this tutorial on how to remove the background to an image.
When the background of the object is removed from the new layer, make sure your new layer is still selected in the layers box. Now, go in the upper Photoshop menu at the Image section and Adjustments. Here you have an option named "Replace Color". After you click on this option, a new window will appear.

With the eyedropper tool selected click on your object to pick up a color sample with the color you wish to change from your object. Check the "Image" option under the small image preview. Now every change you make will be applied to the whole image. Start playing with the Hue value to obtain the color you desire. If you have trouble obtaining the color you desire increase or decrease the saturation and lightness values as well. Increasing saturation value you give more color to your image. Decreasing it, will take from it's color. Lightness will make the color lighter or darker.

When the object have the color you desire hit the ok button. Now your object have a new color.

At the end, you can merge the two layers, the original one and the one with the new color applied to the object.
